Despite the clear provision in the law, the observing of the counting of votes was not permitted in some ballot boxes. Observers noted the following: ‘After the ballots were closed in Mezitli M. Develi Middle School, the entrance to the building was blocked by the school principal and the police and citizens were not permitted to observe the counting.’, ‘At Ticaret Lisesi, the police made an announcement at 17:00 for everyone to leave and no one was permitted to enter the building’.
